Sienna is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She has worked in the Human services field for well over a decade. In recent years, Sienna has worked as a respite provider to children diagnosed with ADHD, autism, generalized anxiety disorder, selective mutism, and oppositional defiant disorder. As the mother of two neurodivergent children herself, Sienna is well aware of the void in the system when it comes to supporting the caregivers of children with heightened behavioral, social, and sensory challenges. Thus, she is passionate about offering support and guidance to individuals who are directly and indirectly affected by ADHD and/or autism. Making meaningful connections is a top priority for Sienna and she works to create a safe space for the diverse needs of each client. Sienna uses client centered therapy as her foundation and draws from several modalities including compassion focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, narrative therapy, and internal family systems. Sienna also provides psychoeducation to caregivers so they can better understand how their child’s brain differences affect development/behavior. When Sienna is not supporting clients she gets a lot of joy from her gaggle of cute animals, listening to audio books, and hiking with her kids.

I believe change is possible no matter what obstacles are placed on your path. It is within your grasp to build up coping strategies to handle life’s challenges. I endeavor to work with clients to create a bank of resources to manage difficult feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and situations. This enables a sense of security when a withdrawal is required from one’s emotional bank account. A design for coping and living is established in the therapeutic alliance between counsellor and client. Evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy are introduced and implemented. I value open communication, honesty, and authenticity in my counselling approach when working with people.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University along with a Bachelor of Education. As a former teacher with 18 years of experience, I look forward to working with adults and youth. I enjoy meeting clients who are in a variety of circumstances and situations. I aspire to provide quality care in the domains of disordered eating, relationships, anxiety, and depression in addition to grief and loss. My practicum took place at Cedars Cobble Hill on Vancouver Island where I specialized in the treatment of addictions. I bring genuine empathy and understanding to those struggling with substance use disorders through my own recovery.
I am happy to offer daily, evening, and Saturday services in both French and English.
All my relations,
Allison
